Uganda is a beautiful country described as "gifted by nature". The beautiful scenery, landscapes, blue shimmering lakes, classic wildlife, birdlife, and welcoming people present it as the “Pearl of Africa”. Uganda is famously known as one of the great African safari tour destinations. This very tour will take you to both the savannah and primate national parks to experience gorillas, chimpanzees, wildlife, birds, and various cultures, with memorable inviting scenic views.
The Itinerary
In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and oldest national park. En-route, we will stop for a visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you can see the white rhinos as they are being re-introduced into the wild. In the afternoon after lunch, you will continue with the drive to your lodge. After check-in, you can go for an evening game drive in search of some game. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, you will go for a morning game drive through the Borassus Forest and open savannah. You will look out for elephants, giraffes, buffalos, lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, and different species of antelopes. The numerous bird species that will be encountered include the Abyssinian ground hornbill, red bishop, palm nut vulture, and African fish eagle.
After lunch, you will go for a boat cruise along river Nile. On the River Nile, you expect to witness breathtaking scenery and different wildlife that include hippos and crocodiles. Also on the banks, there will be elephants and buffalos as they come down to drink water after a hot sunny day. After the boat cruise, you will hike to the top of the Murchison Falls. Watch the waters of the Nile as they squeeze in an about 7-meter narrow gorge. The view is just spectacular! Afterward, you will drive back to your lodge for an overnight.
After breakfast, you will drive to Kibale National Park, which was christened ‘’the primate capital of the world’’. The drive is rewarding as it will expose you to different sights and beautiful sceneries. You will arrive at the lodge in the late afternoon, and after checking in, you will have a relaxed evening at your patio.
After breakfast, you will proceed to the briefing point. Afterwards, your ranger guide will lead you as you head into the forest. Along the trek, expect to find different types of primates including the blue-cheeked mangabey, red monkey, white-nosed monkey, and black and white colobus monkey including the major primate the chimpanzees.
In the afternoon after lunch, you will be driven to Bigodi Swamp for a walk. This will give you a chance to encounter more than 8 different primate species and over 200 bird species, including the beautiful, great blue turaco.
After breakfast, you will drive to one of Uganda's famous national parks. The drive will take you through the beautiful scenery of the crater lakes region, the Nandi crater area. You will have a stopover at the equator for photographs. In the afternoon, you will go for an evening game drive before going to the lodge and relaxing at your patio as you wait for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, you will go for a long day game drive in search of a wide range of classic wildlife including elephants, buffalos, lions, waterbuck, leopards, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and numerous bird species. You will then drive back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go to Mweya peninsula for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural channel connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. During the cruise, you will meet numerous wildlife along the banks of the canal including hippos, elephants, and a variety of bird species. After the boat cruise, you will drive back to your lodge with game viewing along the way.
After breakfast, you will drive towards the southern part of the park – Ishasha sector. Ishasha is famous for its tree-climbing lions. After lunch, you will go on an afternoon game drive in Ishasha as you proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, home of the mountain gorillas. Arrive at your lodge late in the evening, relax have dinner and overnight.
In the morning after breakfast, drive to the briefing point just to get prepared for the strenuous activity of gorilla tracking. You will then embark on the most memorable journey of your life. This activity can take about 2 hours or as long as 7 hours depending where the rangers left them the previous day. Once you locate gorilla family, you will be allowed a maximum of 1 hour to be with them.
In the afternoon, you can go for a community walk as you discover the different styles of living in the nearby community and visit the nearby craft shops.
After early breakfast, you will transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. This is Uganda's NP, with various unique wildlife including Zebras, Impalas, Buffalos, Giraffes, and different types of birds among others.
After lunch, you will go for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo. This is where the park derives its name. You will meet numerous wildlife and bird species. After the boat cruise, you will have a game drive as you drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, you will go on a walking safari around the park. Lake Mburo is one of the parks in Uganda where it is safe to have a walking safari in the wild. This is possible because there are no big cats in this park. You will have another game drive as you drive back to your lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will drive to Kampala and proceed to Entebbe Airport. You will have a stopover at the Uganda equator for souvenir shopping and photo moments as you continue to the Airport.
